  1. Hey Cathy I am just trying to get this figured out. I think we should offer a prize for each person that offers a post before the next meeting.

  2. Looks like you found your way here. And the prize would be? chocolate perhaps! Good idea.

  3. Hey, I figured out how to post a comment!
I'm intrigued by the idea that environment actually affects the density of brain tissue in the cerebral cortex. (p. 42)
I may have to re-read the technical explanations, but at least I know I might be growing a few more dendrites in the process!

  4. Wow! What an important chapter about the brain. As a primary teacher I feel this chapter expresses the importance of constantly building background knowledge for our students. This will allow them to make meaning by connecting to existing schemata as they progress through school. It also gives support to providing Full Day Kindergarten to ensure all students receive a healthy dose of enriched environment at these early, formative years.

  5. I find the section about Henry so interesting! I remembering so fascinated during the course with all the stories that he shared with us...makes the information so much more meaningful.

  6. This also supports the need for pre-school to provide that enriched environment, especially to those students who are not receiving it at home. It is unbelieveably obvious in Kindergarten who is living in an enriched enviornment and who is not, more so than the other grades.
